Raising A Reader is a child-driven program, that emcompasses early childhood educators, parents and librarians in a coordinated 'read aloud' effort.
Each week, children take home a red bag filled with four high quality, developmentally appropriate, multi-cultural children's books.
Families are also introduced to the local public library.  Raising A Reader's mission is "to foster healthy brain development, parent-child
bonding and early literacy skills critical for school success by engaging parents in a routine of daily 'book cuddling' with their children from birth to five.
Raising A Reader brings literacy experiences home and teaches a love of books and reading.
